Registered as an association in 1996. Zambia Polocrosse has had it’s up’s and downs with regards to membership. Having a lot of ex-pats coming and going in the past the numbers would increase the one year and drop to just survival level the next but with more and more people establishing themselves permanently we seem to have risen out of that situation. Currently we have +/-150 players. We have 5 active clubs and one new club starting this month bringing the total to 6 registered clubs.

The capital of Zambia is Lusaka where all the embassies and major companies are based. This is central province where we have 4 of the six clubs, Lusaka South Country Club, Leopards Hill Polocrosse Club, Zambia Police Polocrosse Club and the new club Chisamba Polocrosse Club. Moving 300km South we have Choma Polocrosse Club and then 200km further South we have Livingstone Polocrosse Club situated close to one of the wonders of the world the Victoria Waterfalls fed by the mighty Zambezi river.

Zambia played it’s second international tournament in July this year against Zimbabwe. Zambia winning last year against a +/- equal handicap team from Zimbabwe and Zimbabwe beating Zambia this year. So the real fight for the cup will be next year. Zambia will be sending their first Polocrosse Veterans team to the Veterans Tournament held in South Africa in August this year. Zambia Polocrosse players now have their sights set on the World Cup 2007 and are hoping to get invited.
