Irish World Cup Preparations Under Way

Polocrosse in Ireland is gearing up its preparations for the World Cup of Polocrosse based in the UK next year.

The coaches for the national team have been selected and the playing squads are being assembled in advance of the current playing season. Even at this early stage there is a lot of confidence that Ireland can improve on its 6th place finish in each of the past 2 World Cups with the nomination of Tony O'Donnell and Seamus McDonagh as head coaches for the 2011 World Cup.

Tony and Seamus bring a vast amount of knowledge and experience from their exploits at previous World Cups and this will serve the 2011 playing squad well. According to Tony, Ireland can be the dark horses of Polocrosse World Cup 2011 and with the strength of Polocrosse in Ireland at the moment along with 18 months of fine tuning and the backing of the "Green Army" that will be travelling in support of our national team, there is a strong belief that we will be making a compelling run for the 2011 World Cup of Polocrosse.
