Queenslander horse owners have been very cooperative in relation to the important Stock Standstill in place throughout the State. Thank you.
While DPI&F's specialist group, Biosecurity Queensland, works to control and contain the spread of Equine Influenza, this stock standstill will remain in place indefinitely until it is revoked by the Minister for Primary Industries, the Hon. Tim Mulherin. This means that until notified:
Horse owners cannot not move horses from their properties unless they have a permit. Horse transporters need to abide by the standstill and ensure their vehicles and equipment are cleaned and disinfected before any future use. No equine events and gatherings can take place in Queensland.
If you have any questions about the current arrangements, please call DPI&F on 13 25 23 or visit the dedicated area on the DPI&F website - www.dpi.qld.gov.au. (Click 'more' link to go to Equine Influenza website)
