Australia's polocrosse "Masters" are being urged to circle the weekend October 12-14 2007 in their tournament diaries.

That's when the Masters Games will be held at Lobethal in the hills just outside Adelaide, South Australia.

Adelaide Polocrosse Club President Darren Hochuli said that he expected 200 or more riders to attend the tournament.

"Given the huge interest in the World Cup in Warwick this month, I believe there will be a flow-on benefit for the Masters Games," he said.

"I expect those current players will be spurred on by the World Cup and that the event might encourage retired players to dust off their racquets and resume competitive polocrosse.

"And, for those people getting back into the sport, the Masters Games in South Australia could well be ideal tournament for their comeback."

Mr Hochuli said the Masters Games was a fantastic event with enormous fellowship in between the on-field rivalry. The Adelaide Polocrosse Club last hosted the Masters Games in 2005.

"People began arriving at the grounds a good week before the tournament to make the most of the fine wine and food in the Adelaide Hills and surrounding regions, "he said.

Mr Hochuli said that planning was well underway for the October tournament.

"We want people to pencil in the Masters Games into their tournament diaries and register as soon as possible," he said. "The grounds look fantastic, there's plenty of on-site camping available; everything is on track for an excellent tournament."
