2006 was the year of discovering polocrosse in France with huge media coverage. The selection of a french team to attend the World Cup, albeit as part of the Australian carnival, along with Holland and Zambia, has been a huge boost. We had regional TV, radio and press coverage throughout the summer of 2006 due to our succesful participation in the first european championship held in Doncaster (May) and the organisation of our very own polocrosse meet in the Bay of the Somme (July), attended by 5 different European teams (UK, Ireland, Holland, Norway, France). This was a brilliant moment including sea bathing with the horses and beach training.
Hopefully this amazing start to polocrosse in France will build on from there! If you only remember one date, make it July 15th - our next Henson Polocrosse France friendly Bay of the Somme tournament. Ask those who were there last year how they enjoyed it and join us this year! |
