All jokes aside... April 1st marks an important day for Polocrosse. New marketing initiatives ahead of next month's Polocrosse World Cup see this an amateur sport take its message to the skies from that date.

Ridley World Cup

At eleven and a half thousand metres, official airline Qantas is carrying the Polocrosse World Cup message to 500,000 passengers. The April edition of their in-flight magazine The Australian Way, will carry a feature story on the week-long competition at Morgan Park on Queensland's Southern Downs.

The week before competition begins the airline's in-flight TV entertainment system will also carry a promotion of the event, firmly placing Warwick on the world stage.

Closer to ground level, Polocrosse is making its first foray into metropolitan billboard advertising in a bid to capture some of the Brisbane drive market. Two premium sites have been selected to capture the traffic in the busy Ipswich to Milton western commuter corridor, providing access to well over 100,000 vehicles per day.

World Cup chairman Les Fraser said, "With professional advice from APN Outdoor, we have secured an inbound site on the Ipswich Motorway at Goodna and an outbound site on Milton Road, near the landmark Castlemaine Perkins factory.

"This is unprecedented for Polocrosse and reflects our commitment to promoting a world class event in regional Queensland," Mr Fraser added.

Eight nations will contest the Ridley Polocrosse World cup at Morgan Park, Warwick 23:29 April see www.polocrosse.com.au/worldcup.
