Picture: CAMERON RICHARDSON by JOANNA VAUGHAN Although they may be too young to compete this time around, two South Australian teenagers have their sights set on one day playing in the Polocrosse World Cup. Ben Hochuli, 12, and James Pritchard, 13, have made such an impact with the Adelaide Polocrosse Club, they have been chosen to attend a week-long intensive training course at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra. The game is played entirely while riding a horse and is a combination of polo, lacrosse and netball. "I am really excited to have been given this opportunity to train with some of the best coaches in Australia," said James, who has been playing the sport for four years. Ben and James are among the many polocrosse players in South Australia who play in places like the South East, the Adelaide Hills and even towns in Victoria and New South Wales. The Adelaide Polocrosse Club will hold a "Come and Try" day at Lobethal today. The 2007 Polocrosse World Cup will be held in Queensland this year with competitors coming from Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, United Kingdom, United States and Zimbabwe.
