The seven Polocrosse fields at Warwick's Morgan Park will get their final and full work out this weekend prior to next year's world championships.

Leading the charge of hundreds of players from Northern Queensland through to NSW to test the grounds prior to the Ridley Polocrosse World Cup 2007, will be the growing army of Polocrosse Masters. This will be the first time a Masters' Competition will be held in Queensland in conjunction with a club carnival.

Masters, through to sub-juniors will compete this weekend (18, 19, 20 August 2006) in the NTI Rose Bowl 2006 Polocrosse Championships. This popular event is hosted each year by the Warwick Polocrosse Club but this year includes a new element to the programme.

Club President Les Fraser commented, "This year we have introduced an Interstate Invitation Masters' Competition for both men and women competitors from NSW and Qld. Thanks to sponsorship from Ridley AgriProducts, we’ll be presenting these matches in the prime viewing spots at 6-9pm on Friday and Saturday evenings. Anyone who has seen Polocrosse played under lights knows that this is a great way to watch an all-action sport."

Australia is the current Polocrosse world champion, having defeated New Zealand 32:13 in 2003. Amongst those at Morgan Park this weekend will be organisers of the Ridley Polocrosse World Cup 2007, plus Australian Coach Ross Shepherd (Warwick, QLD) and squad member Cameron Shepherd (Warwick, QLD).
