Greenhorse Competition at Camden
The first carnival in our locality was held at Sydney Clubs new grounds at the Bi-Centennial Equestrian Park, Camden. Almost forty Southern Highlanders enjoyed more polocrosse than you can poke a stick at (sorry about that) on the green, soft fields Sydney had on offer. Just as well the grounds were soft as a couple of green horses thought it was a rodeo and unceremoniously dumped their riders, much to the delight of the crowd!
The Greenhorse & Open Bounce On tournament was mainly run as a sectional competition and provided all players with any level of game they wanted.
The Southern Highland players fared very well almost scooping the prize pool. It was a very enjoyable and relaxing weekend, thanks for a great carnival Sydney and good luck with the development of your new grounds.

HALL CARNIVAL
Due to the uncertainty of insurance coverage prior to their carnival, the Hall Club postponed its scheduled carnival and is considering other available dates.
The difficulty faced by Hall is that they are not able to run a carnival on the first weekend of a month due to the Hall Markets requiring the grounds. To this end Hall is hoping to run their carnival on 16-17 June but under NSWPA by-laws, they must first liaise with neighbouring zones.

NEW ZONE POLICY
At the Zone Meeting held on 30th March, delegates agreed to the following:
(a) That umpires wear a helmet when umpiring
(b) That any person on horseback at a SH tournament must wear a helmet at all times
Appropriate signs are to be displayed at all carnivals reminding people of this policy. This process is to improve the zones risk management and your co-operation in adhering to the new policy is sought.

SH ZONE FINAL CHANGE OF DATE
The Zone Final has been moved to 21-22 July. This will enable interested players to attend the Coffs Harbour/Macksville event from 7th to 15th July. For those not going to Coffs, it frees up the Harden and Jugiong/Hawkesbury Valley weekends. The venue for the Zone Final will be at Hall.
