November 2006

Pennine Polocrosse ClubNovember 23 - I am writing on behalf of the Pennine Polocrosse Club in the UK.

We are looking for a high graded (International 7 or higher) overseas players to come to spend the 2007 season with our club. We need the visiting player to help take our young but very experienced B grade side into A grade for the 2007 season. In addition we are looking for that person to coach and improve the level of our club members (from juniors to A Division). Also there is a possibility of running coaching and demonstration sessions with local pony clubs from which we recruit our future players. We also have links with some emerging clubs on the European mainland and there may be opportunities to do some coaching and development there. The package is negotiable but initially we are looking to offer the following:

  • Return Air Fare
  • A good horse for the season (with the option to sell on and profit from)
  • Accomodation & Food
  • Help in finding a job relevant to their skills
  • A car and reasonable fuel allowance
  • Entry and transport to tournaments
  • Club membership
  • Payment at a reasonable rate for the pony club coaching and demonstration sessions

We are a fast growing (over 50% of current membership are juniors) friendly club. The UK season starts in earnest at the end of May and we would really like the player to arrive as soon as possible after the World Cup.

If you want to learn a bit more about the club, please visit our web site at www.penninepolocrosse.co.uk or e-mail me at

Best wishes

Peter Cross (Chairman)

November 21 - Hi Craig,
I am looking for some one to come and stay at my place (ASAP actually) prior to me playing in the World Cup. Then they can travel over to Warwick with us for the Cup.

They will be required to help me with the horses, play a few young horses at tournaments and assist with the race horses in return for their keep, travel to World Cup, some coaching and experience playing polcrosse over here.

If they need to earn some more money we have an extensive farm and Cattle Feedlot where they could do some work.

The place is called Popanyinning. It is 170km South East of Perth, near Narrogin.

My home number is 08 9887 5110.

Regards Kylie Dowling

October 2006

October 11 - I am writing on behalf of the Welsh Dragons Polocrosse Club in the UK.

We would like to advertise for two overseas players to come and spend the 2007 season with our club. We need the visiting players to coach and improve the level of our club members (from juniors to A Division) and we will horse the visitors on two club horses so that they can form the remainder of our "A" grade side. In return for their commitment and time, we will provide the following:

  • Return Air Fare
  • A good horse for the season (with the option to sell on and profit from)
  • Accomodation & Food
  • Help in finding a job relevant to their skills
  • Possibly a car
  • Entries to tournaments

We are a really friendly bunch and would welcome any applications. The two players would need to arrive by the end of May 2007 latest - earlier if possible. Due to the level of player we want we would prefer it if the applicants are graded over a 7 handicap (International standard).

Please send email to or if you are interested. We look forward to hearing from you!

Thanks a million
Lizzie Wright-Roberts

July 27 - I am looking for information from other countries about the allowance of Stock Saddles and Face Guards to be used in polocrosse in pony club. I am from the USA, and would like these two pieces of equipment to be accepted in US Pony club. Is there anyone out there who can help me with other pony clubs reasoning to allow or not allow stock saddles and face guards in pony club? anything would help...

June 2006

June 29 - Hello!: I've taken this information from de web. I don´t know if I´m writing to the correct place or person but... please let me know.
I'm Ana Brané and I´ve 27 years old. I live in Argentina (countryside) and I love horses. I used to play polocrosse here some years ago, but at the moment, this sport is no longer popular in my country.
I´m writing here because I really want to play polocrosse again!. If its necessary I´ll travel to any country and I offer myself to work there with polocrosse horses!!!
I really know how to play very well! For more information: I ride horses since I'm 2 years old, I also play polo, I've done dressage, reining and horse back jumping. Actually I'm training a horse for equinotherapy or hipotherapy (I´m a Psicopedagogy).
Thanks for your time.

April 27 - You are going to think I'm a silly old goat but a long time ago I worked with (at the Pfizer property at Bringelly) a lovely fellow who played polocrosse. His name is Bob Clarke and he was the farm manager and an ex police officer.

Do you know of him please?

Many thanks

January 2006

January 14 - Hi, I am 19 years old and am looking to work with horses in the United Kingdom.
I have had 5 months experience in polocrosse in Zimbabwe, as well as cross country, showjumping and racing. I have owned and brought up horses all my life, I also can perform within reason vet checks, example giving injections and helping with horses in foal.

I have owned mostly thoroughbreds and have had to deal with all ages and all situations. I am a very experienced rider as well as being physically fit. I understand horses needs. I have also given a few riding lessons to young children, who have benefited from this.
