Benalla Polocrosse Carnival

Benalla & District Polocrosse held a successful Tournament on the 24th and 25th April 1999 with teams coming from Lake George, Swan Hill, Smythesdale, Albury, Rosedale, Trafalgar, Ballarat, Sunbury, Ballarat, Yarroweyah, Moorooduc and Koonung.
The weather was perfect for playing Polocrosse and there were some hard fought games.
The Benalla players teamed up with the Yarroweyah side to make two sides in "B" grade, one being Yarroweyah and the other being Benalla,with the Yarroweyah side being the most successful.
 
The Results for the weekend are as follows:
"C" Grade
Winners – Lake George - Runners up - Ballarat
Best Section - Lake George 2 - C. Buckley G. Ritchie and J. Sillis
 
"B" Grade
Winners – Yarroweyah - Runners up – Trafalgar
Best Section - Yarroweyah 2 - Dallas Koch, S. Chalker and Mark O'Brien
 
"A" Reserve
Winners - Corio - Runners up - Koonung
Best Section - Corio 1 - Lisa Jolly, H. Armstrong and W. Falconer
 
"A" Grade
Winners – Rosedale - Runners up – Lake George
Best Section - Lake George 2 - J. Smith, J. Rose and G. Dange
 
Best Turned Out Team - Albury "A"
Winner of the wheelbarrow full of groceries was Julie Koch of Yarroweyah.

The next major event to be held will be the State Championships at Moorooduc on the 15th and 16th of May, followed by the Australian Zone Championships at Benalla on June 12th and 13th at Benalla (Queens Birthday weekend).
