The Wicklow Bay club recently hosted the European Challenge test matches between Ireland and Holland. The Irish team gave a great account of polocrosse across the country with 8 clubs being represented on the 9 player squad. There were a total of 4 test matches in all, 2 on Saturday and 2 on Sunday, with all payers selected from the C or D grade ranks.
With less than a year before the World Cup the Irish squad has been assembled and preparations are well under way. The teams have been training over the course this year's polocrosse season and have recently had a successful outing during the annual Tri-Nations tournament between Ireland, UK and Wales.
