Update No. 29, Thursday 10 January 2008

Further easing of horse movement restrictions in south east Queensland

Some repeated horse movements by float or truck and 'on hoof' movements within local areas are now allowed in the horse flu Red Zone under special conditions.

New 'On Hoof' and 'Multi-Movement by Vehicle Permits' are designed to help horse owners and businesses get back to normal operations.

Update No. 28, Wednesday 9 January 2008

The current situation

The number of properties infected with equine influenza continues to drop. There are presently (Wednesday 9 January 2008) 330 infected properties in Queensland. View the breakdown by shire

If your horse shows symptoms of equine influenza, please continue to report it to your local vet or to the Department of Primary Industries and Fisheries (DPI&F) by calling 13 25 23. There have been no new infections in Queensland reported to DPI&F since 22 December 2007.

It only seems fitting that we send in an update for Canada with so much happening in the past few years. Polocrosse is indeed alive and flourishing here in Canada. Since the last update Polocrosse has been on a steady incline. We continue to host a number of players, coaches and horse trainers as well as travel back and forth to several countries to play. As stated prior, we always have horses and accommodation for that weary Polocrosse player and welcome the opportunity to meet new people and learn a couple more game strategies.
